Deciduous perennial. California native. AKA Epilobium canum. Un-named varieties of this shrub are rarely offered in the retail nursery setting. Fuzzy foliage ranges in color from green-gray to silvery- green. Growth habit can be low and spreading or somewhat upright. All have large, tubular flowers appear in summer and fall. Color is typically some varying shade of orange-red, but now include salmons and white. Attracts hummingbirds. Deer resistant. Moderate to little water needs in well-drained soil once established. Hardy to 10°F or less.
