Deciduous shrub or small tree. Fast growing. Aromatic, fan-shaped leaves are divided into five to seven narrow leaflets. The foliage is grayish green above and gray beneath. Fall color is unremarkable. Small, fragrant lavender blue flowers held in spikes at branch bloom summer through fall. Moderate to regular water needs once established.
