Deciduous shrub. Attractive deep green foliage grows into a dense attractive bush. Large clusters of small, fragrant, white flowers bloom in spring. Blooms are followed by clusters of dark purple and black berry-like fruits commonly used to make jellies, pies, and wine. Moderate to ample water needs once established; do not let dry out. Adapts to a variety of soil conditions, but requires good drainage.
