Deciduous perennial. Hybrid of the culinary sage familiar to most cooks; grown for culinary properties and ornamental qualities. Wide grey-green leaves are softly textured and highly aromatic. Whorls of purple-blue flowers bloom above the foliage in early summer. Attracts butterflies and other beneficial pollinators. Deer resistant. Drought tolerant once established, but appreciates occasional summer watering for best culinary flavor. Tolerates a variety of soils but requires good drainage. Hardy to 0°F and below.
