Evergreen shrub. California native. Upright arching habit, but more compact than species. 1 inch long gray green leaves are wonderfully scented. 2 foot long flower spikes form on red stems. Flowers are a deep lavender-blue and form on a tier of whorls in late spring and summer. Deer resistant. Low water needs once established.
