Evergreen conifer. Also known as Pinus heldreichii. Moderate growth rate. Dense form with oval to pyramidal shape. Extremely slow growing. In garden setting only likely to reach 30-40 feet tall. Dark green needles in groups of two are 2.5-3 inches long. Narrow cones form individually or in groups and are 2-3 inches long. Native to the Balkans, Greece, and Italy. Salt tolerance makes it a good choice near the coast. Moderate water needs once established.
