Deciduous perennial. Used as groundcover. Deep green, dense, leathery leaves grow into a thick carpet. Foliage turns to a beautiful bronzy-red in the fall. Short terminal spikes of deep red and light pink flowers bloom for an extended period from late spring through fall. Attracts butterflies and other beneficial pollinators. Deer resistant. Tolerant of clay soil, but requires good drainage. Moderate water needs once established. Requires good drainage. Hardy to 0°F.
