Evergreen shrub in mild climates. Dense growth habit. Narrow, dark, purple-black leaves are shiny the first year and age to green-black. Dense cone-like flower clusters are range in color from burgundy to almost black. In Leucadendron, male and female flowers are borne on separate plants. Ebony is a Female plant. Low water needs in well-drained soil once established. Hardy to 20-25°F.
