Deciduous shrub. California native. Sprawling habit. Scarlet-orange tubular flowers bloom over green heart-shaped leaves from late spring into early summer. Previously sold as Penstemon cordifolius. Deer resistant. Attracts bees, butterflies, hummingbirds, and other pollinators. Low to moderate water needs in well-drained soil once established. Hardy to 15°F and below.
