Evergreen perennial. California native hybrid. Upright green grass-like leaves give instant architecture to any garden. Beautiful soft mauve flowers with light purple beards bloom above the foliage in spring. Spreads by rhizomes, best divided every 4-5 years. Deer resistant. Regular water needs while flowering, but prefers to dry out a little bit after blooming. Requires good drainage. Hardy to 15°F.
