Evergreen tree. Densely-branched, erect growth habit suitable for training as a shrub. Leaves are leathery, glossy, wavy-margined, variegated light and dark green with large, spiny teeth. Greenish-white flowers appear in May. Pollinated blooms give way to berry-like drupes in fall and winter. Attracts birds. Moderate water needs once established.
