Deciduous perennial. Related to sunflowers and is important for birds and pollinators. Upright grower, long stems with few leaves are topped with daisy shaped flowers in summer to fall. Two-inch-wide flowers have wedge shaped petals that droop down slightly from the showy mounded centers. While blooming they attract many types of pollinators. If you allow flowers to fade and go to seed, they are attractive to small birds especially native finches. Will also reseed, allowing the clump to spread naturally. Happiest in hot summer areas and good soil, they will tolerate poor soil. Will tolerate some drought, but flower and look their best with moderate watering once established.
