Evergreen shrub. California native. Leaves are broadly oval, up to 4 inches long, and colored a deep, lustrous green, bronzy in new growth. Enjoys lightly acidic soils. White to pale pink urn shaped blossoms in late spring, developing into black-purple berries by fall. Moderate to low water needs once established.
