Evergreen perennial. Dark green leaves most of the year. In cold weather, bold red leaves start to form at tips of each stem. Surrounded with the green they look like Rudolph’s nose. Tough relative of Christmas Poinsettia. Interesting cup-shaped yellow-green “flowers” have a red eye and bloom in late spring through summer. Deer resistant. Low to moderate water needs in well-drained soil once established. Hardy to 0°F or below.
