Evergreen perennial. Also known as Euphorbia nothowlee. Fleshy deep purple leaves have an almost velvet look. Tough relative of the Christmas Poinsettia. Interesting cup-shaped yellow-green “flowers” are held above foliage on red stems and bloom in late spring. Deer resistant. Low to moderate water needs in well-drained soil once established. Hardy to 0°F or below.
