Evergreen tree. Also called syzygium paniculatum. Upright habit. New foliage, produced nearly year round, is bronze-red maturing to glossy green. Creamy white flowers appear in late spring to early summer followed by rose-purple fruit. Deer resistant. Moderate water needs in well-drained soil once established. Hardy to 25-30°F.
