Evergreen shrub. Trained to grow on a trellis. Slow growth. Dark green, glossy foliage. Upright, compact habit. Very large, formal double blooms are crimson with a purple cast. They appear mid to late winter into the spring. Likes moist but well-drained acidic soil.
