Evergreen perennial. Native to California’s coastal redwood forests. Forms lush, shiny carpets. Spring flowers are brownish maroon. Spicy scent when plant is crushed. Regular water needs once established. Adaptable to various soil conditions. Hardy to 10°F and below.
