Deciduous perennial. Lacey greenish gray foliage forms a mound in spring. The flowers are unique in shape, deep purple, and held above the foliage on long dark stems. Columbines will rebloom if seed heads are removed. Deer resistant. Moderate water needs once established. Hardy to 10°F.
