Evergreen shrub. Rosette-forming succulent native to Mexico. Forms large evergreen basal rosette of thick lance like gray green leaves. Each leaf has a waxy bloom, spiny tip, and sharp spines. Infrequent but spectacular flowering spikes. Plant dies after bloom around the 10th to 25th year. Low water needs once established.
