Deciduous tree. This specimen has a straight, central trunk with branching starting closer to the base of the plant. Moderate growth with spreading canopy. Large white spikes of fragrant spring flowers. Large seeds appear in fall. Loses leaves during summer in the wild, but will hold until fall with moderate water. Silver bark tree structure is showy even when bare. California native. Attracts butterflies and humming birds. Drought tolerant once established.
