Deciduous perennial. Soft-textured clumps of divided leaves composed of toothed or cut leaflets form a lower mound. Feathery plumes of raspberry red flowers extend on thin stems above the foliage summer through fall. This species is more tolerant of dryness, than others. Deer resistant. Ample water needs in rich well-drained soil once established. Hardy to 0°F and below.
