Cormous perennial. Large thickets of narrow fans of dark, evergreen leaves. Dense spikes of red flowers appear in summer up to five feet tall. Deer resistant. Moderate to regular water needs once established. Adaptable to various soil conditions. Hardy to 10°F or less.
