Deciduous perennial. Foliage is fine-textured, bluish-green, pinnately compound, and resembles columbine. Sturdy stems don’t need staking. Flowers consist of lavender sepals and pale yellow stamens and appear in summer. Deer resistant. Moderate water needs in well-drained soil once established. Hardy to 0°F and below.
