Deciduous shrub. Can be pruned into a small tree rose. Usually kept as a 3 foot bush. There’s no other rose quite like this. Pointed buds of deep rust unfurl to reveal a chocolate haze of velvety smoked tones that can even take on a purply cast. Set against gobs of glossy foliage, the ruffled fragrant flowers are mirrored by super-green leaves. Easy vigor and natural disease-resistance. Moderate water needs in well-drained soil once established.
