Deciduous shrub. Pruned into a small, single trunk tree. California native. Pendulous clusters of vivid, crimson flowers make this the most richly colored variety. Blue black berries are a favorite of birds. A more compact grower than most, excellent as a hedge or in a mixed shrub border in native landscaping. Little to moderate water needs once established.
