Evergreen shrub. Arrowhead-shaped, gray-green, slightly furry leaves have a pungent fragrance. Reddish-purple flower spikes appear in summer and fall. Spreads by rhizomes. Low to moderate water needs in well-drained soil once established. Hardy to 15°F and below.
