Deciduous shrub. Compact, mounding habit. Green leaves set flowers with double florets depending on soil acidity. Blooms on old and new wood summer through fall. Flower buds are more cold tolerant than big-leaf hydrangeas. Not recommended to cut back or trim at any time of the year as this will remove flower buds. Moderate water in well-drained soil once established.
